Set in 1918, The Fox revolves around the nuanced relationships between its three main characters—two women who run a small, isolated poultry farm in the wake of WWI and the Spanish Flu, and the charming young soldier who comes to stay.

The Fox is a new chamber opera, composed in 2020 by Roan Shankaruk. Our April 2026 production will be the staged premiere of this piece.
The Fox is sung in English by three singers with piano, violin, and cello.

Compensation
Principal singer fee: $2,700
Compensation by honorarium is available for role studies
Auditions will be held on November 22, 2025 in Vancouver.
